The tournament rules listed below are for all RBI Sports Tournaments sponsored events. Our aim is to provide the best tournament experience possible and provide consistent rules across the state.

Printable Tournament Rules

1. All teams must be ready to play 1 hr. before scheduled game time.

2. All teams must be registered with USSSA and must have roster on-line (per SC. State Director.

3. Admission fees will be charged at all tournament sites unless otherwise noted. It is the coach’s responsibility to notify parents of this policy.

4. Team coolers will not be supplied in the dugouts. It will be each team’s responsibility to supply a team cooler when you are playing. One cooler per team. No food or drink brought into the facility.

5. A maximum of 7 minutes per team of infield beginning with visiting team will be allowed provided the tournament is on schedule.

6. Home team will be decided by coin toss.

7. Baseballs will be provided by the tournament host.

8. Game roster (current roster signed by players and parents) must be submitted to the site director 30 minutes prior to first scheduled game. Rosters cannot be changed once the tournament begins. (Tournament director with the assistance of the state director will rule in special circumstances)

9. Line-up cards must be submitted to the home plate umpire and opposing team prior to the start of the game.

10. Player Birth Certificates – must be in manager’s position at all times during the tournament. Any questions relating to player eligibility will be referred to SC USSSA Director. Ineligible players identified prior to start of tournament will be expelled. Ineligible players identified after start of tournament will force expulsion of entire team. Coaches are responsible for their team’ eligibility.

11. Home team is the official scorebook. All teams must have a score keeper.

12. Home team must confirm final score to the base umpire and site director immediately upon completion of the game.

13. Official MLB & NFHS rules with USSSA bylaws/rules apply to all tournaments unless otherwise noted.

14. Pitching limitations forms – all managers must meet with the base umpire immediately after the game to confirm the score and innings pitched. Please remember we need the name of the pitcher, not just his number. This is not an option. Failure to confirm results and pitching may result in a forfeit. Coaches will be notified if the above procedure is modified.

15. Protest of an illegal pitcher MUST be made by the opposing coach while the pitcher is illegal and before the next pitch. Once the game is completed, there is no protest.

16. Speed-up Rule #1 – Courtesy runner any time for the pitcher or the catcher. Cannot be someone currently in the batting line-up. (This pertains to teams not batting a continuous line up.) See USSSA rules/bylaws concerning use of a courtesy runner when batting a continuous line up.

17. Speed-up Rule #2 – Announce all intentional walks (all ages).

18. Innings of play: 9U, 10U, 11U and 12U – 6 innings or 1:45 time limit; 13U and above – 7 innings or 2:00 hr time limit. International tie-breaker rule in effect for all bracket games except championship game. Last batted out goes to 2nd. Start with no outs & no count on the batter.

19. Pool Play tie breaker guidelines: 1) win-loss record; 2) head-to-head; 3) fewest runs allowed – all games played; 4) run differential; 5) USSSA points; 6) coin flip.

20. Tobacco – no tobacco of any type is allowed in the playing area including the dugout.

21. Fighting – fighting will result in immediate ejection.

22. Sportsmanship – all coaches, players and fans are expected to be respectful of the opposing team, the umpires, the tournament staff and the facility. Any violation of this may result in ejection from the park.

23. Coaches/Managers ejected from a game for any reason must sit out the next game. This is mandatory. If thrown out in the last game of the tournament (sitting out a game) will apply to the next Potential tournament in which your team participates. Any coach or player ejected for cursing will receive 6 month probation with Potential Tournaments. Second offense within 6 months will result in one year’s suspension from any involvement with any team associated with RBI Sports Tournaments. Please remember you/we are here for the players.

24. The tournament director reserves the right to amend any rule, schedule, diamond location, format to accommodate time constraints, weather situations, special situations, etc.
